Overcoming the supply chain struggles during the lockdown

07-09-2021
A mid-size A1 Class Road contractor from the northern part of India, with an annual turnover of more than INR 2000 Crores, was undertaking a Road Construction project of approx 100 Kms with complexities related to tunnel work, integrated railway project and other factors.

They were purchasing aggregates from a crusher site which was 40 kms away from their project site.
They were procuring aggregates: GSB (63mm down) and WMM (40 mm down) and were bearing with significant issues related to:

Transportation costs (crusher site 40km away)
Raw material cost
Lack or not reliable manual labour, due to lockdown caused by the pandemics

The struggle is real and needs for effective solutions, which MB Crusher can supply with in these times of need.

Overcoming the supply chain struggles during the lockdown

A bit of a background

The project site had availability of River Stone and Hill rock thanks to hill cutting for the road project; and had the requisite permission from the authorities to re-use the material for road project

While they were procuring in-consistent quantities from the crusher site, the Project Manager started looking for an alternative solution for:
✓Achieving consistent output
✓ Enhancing the economic viability

A new road ahead with the MB Jaw Crusher

Today, they are using MB Crusher Bucket BF90.3 to crush river bed material and hill rock on the same excavator that was already deployed at site for other purposes.
This has transformed their excavator into a crushing unit capable of producing all of their GSB and WMM requirements independently at site.

This resulted in:

✓ Completely eliminating their dependability on the crusher site
✓ Reducing the cost of aggregates
✓ Saving on transportation cost

With MB Crusher Bucket BF90.3 S4, they are now achieving the productivity of approximately 800 CFT per hour with savings of more than 12 INR per CFT compared to their previous set up.
