Re Start: rebuilding with MB bucket crushers

The Repair, Reconstruction, or Relocation (R3) program provides assistance to repair or rebuild family homes damaged by hurricanes Irma and Maria in 78 municipalities in Puerto Rico. The program is supported by funds allocated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

MB Crusher also participated in the R3 "action plan" with two of its attachments: the MB-L140 crusher bucket in the compact range and the BF60.1 in the heavy range.

Starting from scratch with MB Crusher

The fury of the hurricanes, which struck the island in 2017, destroyed more than 100 houses, uncovered roofs, disrupted electricity, blocked and flooded entire streets and neighborhoods. News outlets around the world reported, "Hurricane Maria's passage wiped out the island."

Fortunately, human beings know how to start from scratch and begin again. In fact, rebuilding cities and territories are activities practiced and known to humans, who roll up their sleeves and ingenuity to find solutions to get back on their feet. And also find tools to do so in an easier way.

During the reconstruction work, MB Bucket Crushers were used for:

  • Reduce the grain size of the rubble;
  • Reuse them for other projects;
  • Also reuse them for the reconstruction of the buildings themselves.

Thus, only unusable material was brought to the landfill, thereby reducing trips to and from recycling yards.

But are MB units suitable for any heavy machine?

Installed on the equipment already on the construction site, MB jaw crushers transform aggregates into ready-to-use material in a single pass. They are versatile and high-performing and can work in virtually any type of small, medium, or large construction sites, especially small spaces.

For example, a BF60.1 bucket crusher was used on a CAT E200B excavator for an R3 project. Wherever the excavator could not reach, they used a smaller machine, a Bobcat T590 skid-steer with another jaw crusher model, the MB-L140.
