From production of eco-concrete to recycling concrete

Sismex, an Italian company that commenced trading in 2012, is making a significant impact in the concrete sector by transforming demolition and waste recovery into an innovative and sustainable process. Founded by Pietro and Luciana Granifero together with their son Alessio, the company has maintained a commitment to progress over the years. Originally an earthmoving company, Sismex has diversified its services by focusing on demolition and the recovery of non-hazardous special waste.

Alessio Granifero, the Technical Director of Sismex, explains: "We have evolved to promptly meet industry needs and offer a more efficient and sustainable service."

How? With the help of the BF120.4 crusher bucket!

The timeline: from inception to the BF120.4 producing non-load-bearing concrete

Initially, they merely stockpiled demolition debris at their site.  Now, Sismex's forward-thinking approach is evident in the provision of roll-off dumpsters on construction sites, enabling companies to segregate waste and rubble during operations. Upon job completion, they retrieve the dumpsters and transport them to their plant, where they meticulously determine which materials should be directed to landfills.

From production of eco-concrete to recycling concrete

But this is not the only example of Sismex's progressive environmental practices. They also implemented the use of a BF120.4 crusher bucket.
Originally purchased to crush materials on site for reuse as road base, the BF120.4 has found a new application in the recycling of materials for the production of non-load-bearing concrete.

Alessio expresses satisfaction, saying: "At a certain point we conceived the idea of creating, at our plant, a recycled material with a specific grade and characteristics suitable for the production of recycled aggregate to be used in non-load-bearing concrete. The MB Crusher bucket proved to be the perfect equipment for this task".
The material crushed with the BF120.4 is then mixed with the cement to create eco-concrete! ECO because it utilizes only recycled materials, making a significant contribution to environmental sustainability!

Where else is the crusher bucket being used?

From production of eco-concrete to recycling concrete

Despite having purchased it several years ago, Ssimex continues to utilize the BF120.4 crusher even at demolition sites to reduce debris.

The MB Crusher bucket also streamlines the recycling of reinforced concrete, turning it into a profitable and rapid process. It facilitates the swift separation of the concrete portion from the rebar and mesh. During the crushing phase, the bucket is positioned vertically, enabling the processing of reinforced concrete poles or pillars as well. Materials unsuitable for conventional crushers, such as rebar that can damage conveyor belts, can be easily managed with MB Crusher units.  Additionally, thanks to the optional use of the iron separator, recovering steel rods becomes simple, offering the following benefits:

  • Reduction of new raw material usage;
  • Decrease in disposal costs;
  • Lower hauling expenses.

The BF120.4 crusher bucket was chosen by Sismex for its reliability and cost-effectiveness.
