An A1 Class Road Contractor from the norther mountainous region was undertaking a road project implemented by Indian Border Road Organization at the height of 12400 feet above sea level. 

They were awarded a 12 km road construction project intended to connect two urban locations located at 12400 feet above sea level. 

The approach road, once prepared, is expected to boost economic activities in the region, but since the area is covered entirely with mountainous terrain, installing and running a static crusher was extremely difficult.

With MB Crusher  they find a solution that is easy to install and mobilize with lower operational and maintenance costs.

They proceeded to obtain the necessary approval from the authority to use the hill rock for producing aggregates (that are 65mm, 45mm, 20mm, 10mm, and dust material) from the boulder size of approximately 350mm. They had already deployed a JCB JS140 excavator with a rock breaker at their site.

 To help them in meeting their aggregates requirements, they had also installed a crusher plant near to the project site.
However this solution presented few problems due to the hilly terrain: 

  • availability of electricity was poor;
  • they had to rely completely on diesel generator (DG) set to run the crusher plant.

This was resulting in an increased cost of production of aggregates for the project. Since the project site location is in such a high altitude, they were also facing difficulties in deploying other heavy equipment and machinery at their site to help them accelerate the overall process.
