Overcoming the supply chain hurdles

01-04-2021

A road construction company in the North Eastern part of India who has various types of construction equipment was looking for aggregates of various sizes ranging from 90 mm to 10 mm which they wanted to use at various stages of their project work. They were incurring in many expensive operations & challenges such as:

✔ purchasing the aggregates from a local crusher unit
✔ heavy transportation costs
✔ inconsistent supply due to the difficult geographical terrain

THE SUPPLY CHAIN HURDLES

THE SUPPLY CHAIN HURDLES

Typically, they were purchasing aggregates (45mm to 50mm size) and transporting the material to their job site which was located approximately 20-25 km away from the crusher site.

They needed approximately 7 to 8 trucks per day to meet their daily road construction target.

They were facing hurdles like non-availability of the tipper / dumper when they needed it. To mitigate this, at times they would source their own material via a rock breaker and manual labour to do so.

This solution caused a high degree of inefficiency in their operations

THE MB JAW CRUSHER BUCKET: AN ADVANTAGEOUS SWITCH

The Customer wanted to switch from a manual crushing arrangement, that was no longer effective, to an automatized crushing solution that:

  • does not require any additional labour;
  • does just need  for one excavator, one operator;
  • could help save time and increase production, to meet their new requirements.

The MB Crusher Bucket seemed to be the best fit. Post thorough discussion, customer realized that MB solution would help them to:

  • produce the required material directly at site;
  • savings of approx.. INR 6000 per truck.

They realised that they could save INR 48000/- per day, with an operational breakeven in a matter of a few weeks.

They placed an order for a crusher bucket BF60.1 and the same was successfully installed at site.

When they started the operations they were able to complete one cycle within 1 min, 17 seconds and were able to fill the 250 cubic feet tipper truck in less than 51 minutes.

 Since the day of installation till date, they are satisfied with the product as they are able to easily meet their daily output requirement without any operational hassle.
