No repairs in 5 years — so they bought another one

“We first bought one of these buckets [MB Crusher BF60.1] about five years ago,” says Patrick Duffin of Duffin Builders, Melton Mowbray. “We were on quite a big job where we crushed a lot of concrete.”

That job, he says, did more than just keep things moving. “I would say that that job itself virtually paid for the bucket,” Patrick explains. “We kept it for another five years and we were using it a lot. Off the back of that we got to a point where we thought we definitely need to update and buy a new one.”

Old crusher wearing out? Upgrade smart.

A wise move, given the kind of work Duffin Builders takes on. “We're a big fan of these buckets,” Patrick says. “We are general builders, contractors, we do developments for ourselves and for other people.”

Their latest addition? A brand new crusher bucket BF60.1

Built to Last. Engineered to Upgrade.

“Basically, Patrick rang us up,” says Andrew Purse, Business Development Director for Worsley Plant. “He purchased a used BF60 off us five years ago now, and he had his money's worth out of it.”

The real surprise? “He never spent a penny in maintenance,” Andrew adds. “And he decided he wanted to upgrade it to a brand new one.”

That upgrade made sense not just in performance, but in longevity. “As regards to the actual build of them, they're a Hardox material, they're built to last, and they're very, very robust pieces of kit. You'll get a long, long lifetime out of them.”

And performance? Identical to full-scale machines. “Wear parts, it's just the jaws that wear the same as a big crusher. Similar technology — swing jaw, fixed jaw, and eccentric shaft in the middle — exactly the same as a big crusher.”

Precision Crushing, Adjustable on the Fly

The crusher bucket BF60.1 delivers unmatched flexibility when it comes to output size:
“These will go from 120 mil, which is your biggest, right down to 20 mil, which is the smallest particle size, and anything in between,” says Andrew.

That includes industry staples: “So your 6F2, Type 1, all that, these will make no problem at all.”

Need to adjust quickly on site? Not an issue. “As regards to adjusting the size, you're looking at roughly about 15 minutes to change the size from Type 1 to 6F2, vice versa,” he says. “And you can make all your aggregates very easily.”
